It's so hot right now. Groceries delivery. So cool.
If you're heading to the Walt Disney World Resort you may want to look into getting groceries delivered to your resort hotel. Many of the property hotels have villas featuring full kitchen with ovens allowing you to actually cook meals. This can help you save money during your vacation and keep a kind of homey feel going while you're away.
Here are some things you'll want to know about using a grocery delivery service:
1. Buy in advance. The further out you buy the better as most of the companies offer a discount the further out you buy.
2. They deliver in set blocks of time so you'll have to pick one. You'll want to choose one that fits your arrival at the hotel. Some hotels will hold your groceries for you in case you're arriving late including refrigerated items. Call ahead to make sure they offer this service.
3. Most charge a delivery fee but it can be waived if you purchase over a certain amount of groceries. If your order is not enough try combining with another family or friends.
Here is a list of grocery deliverers in the Walt Disney World Resort area:
- Garden Grocer
- Orlando Grocery Express
- Goodings Delivery
- Amazon Pantry (not a local deliverer but they can deliver to your hotel and hold until you arrive)
Of course if you want to skip the delivery fee (and slightly higher prices) there are lots of local marts around that you can take an Uber or Lyft to:
Trader Joe's - 8323 Sand Lake Rd, Orlando, FL 32819
Wal-Mart - 3250 Vineland Rd, Kissimmee, FL 34746
Publix Super Market - 14928 E Orange Lake Blvd, Kissimmee, FL 34747
If you've never taken a Lyft or Uber they are very cost-affordable and are readily available to any hotel. You can use our coupon codes to receive free rides up to $50. Most trips from the property to one of the grocery stores will cost around $10-$15.
